When you’re getting ready for a night out, there’s three things you always need. Your drivers license (or other ID), your cash/credit card, and your iPhone… but sometimes carrying your wallet and your iPhone can put some strain on your style (or your skinny jeans). The Arctic Wallet Stand case is an affordable option to help put your fashion woes at ease.
Overview:
The Arctic Wallet Stand case is a slim, snap-on case for iPhone 4/4S (available here – $25.95) that mixes the simple concepts of a iPhone stand and case with the convenience of needing one less thing to your pocket, by eliminating your need for a wallet. The soft fabric backing keeps your cards, cash, or key safe, while the hard plastic sides protect the edges and back of your iPhone.
For a wallet, the Arctic case can hold 2-3 credit cards, a small folded bit of cash, a key or two, or even your iPhone’s headphones. The small wallet pocket is great for a night out, when all you need is your ID and a way to pay. The wallet case comes in two colors – gray and blue (navy) – which look great with their white stitched edges.
The Wallet Stand also features a simple, creative flap that keeps your wallets contents safely inside. The little flap acts as a stand for your iPhone. While Arctic markets this as a landscape and portrait stand, landscape mode was the only stable option. In portrait mode, the stand tended to tip to the sides, because of the pointed tip of the flap.
The styling of the Arctic Wallet Stand case is great. As a wallet, it doesn’t interfere with the screen or add extra bulk like some other wallet cases, but it’s functionality as a stand definitely takes a back seat to it’s simple wallet functionality.
Verdict: [rating: 3.5]
Wallet cases tend to have a bulky nature, and Arctic’s low-profile Wallet Stand case stands apart from the pack. The Arctic Wallet Stand is also a good option if you’re a big iPhone video watcher. The simple convenience of the case is great for a night out or for your daily iPhone case.
Pros:
- Hard plastic and cloth design for protection and convenience
- Stylish design
- Convenience of carrying one less things
- Slim profile
Cons:
- Stand functionality is mediocre
- Velcro holds the flap in place – Velcro!
- Cloth pocket stretches somewhat easily (permanently)
If you’re looking for a way to consolidate your daily cargo and save some pocket space, the $25.95 Wallet Stand case from Arctic is a decent option.
