The anticipated sequel to the incredibly popular Plants vs Zombies has finally been confirmed, and it will be available in May next year on the App Store, it was revealed in a press release from developers PopCap (via Cult of Mac).

The sequel to Plants vs. Zombies is expected to launch by late spring 2013, and will include a bevy of new features, settings, and situations, designed to delight the franchise’s tens of millions of fans around the world. No other details of the highly anticipated new installment in the franchise are available at this time, beyond the following comments from some of the game’s denizens.
As stated in the announcement no details are really known at this stage, but fans of the game, which has been ported to half a dozen platforms already, will be desperate to get their hands on the next release. At least it is known when that will be now, so you don’t have to worry if the day will ever come.
