Tapbots’ Tweetbot for Mac alpha has been getting a lot of buzz lately among avid Twitter users – and for good reason: It offers a great interface, and more features than any other Mac Twitter client I have seen. And alpha 4, released today (via TheNextWeb), might be the best update yet!
Tweetbot Alpha 4 brings a host of new features, including support for multiple docking columns, each of which can hold a different timeline or account view. Sections can be freely attached to each other to form a TweetDeck-like console for managing all of your accounts!
The update also brings a menu bar interface which can be used to quickly compose a tweet, or quickly jump to tweets, mentions, or direct messages for any of your accounts. It also includes full support for the OS X Mountain Lion notification center!
Tweetbot for Mac alpha 4 is available now by updating directly through the app, or by downloading a fresh copy for free from Tapbots. Now all they need to do is add tweet scheduling, and I’d never need to use TweetDeck again!
Tweetbot Alpha 4 Changes:
- Window snapping, multiple columns. Create new windows and snap them together for a multiple column layout
- Menu bar icon
- Notifications now show up for all accounts (10.8 only)
- Custom image/video/URL services now work
- Locations now work under 10.8
