We’ve all taken a couple of photos with our iPhone. Or a couple of hundred, OK a couple of thousand. It’s usually a casual thing, an occasional snapshot of your kids, pets, funny signs. You’ve probably used Instagram to upload them to Facebook, or maybe used an app like Camera + or iPhoto to enhance them.
CNET:
Maybe, like the talented Crave readers featured in our Instagram series, you’ve taken your iPhone photography further than pointing and shooting and gotten hooked on a photo enhancement app or two. Or maybe you’ve become so passionate about iPhone photography that you spend countless hours and numerous apps perfecting galleries upon galleries of iPhone creations. Most of the photographers featured in the first-ever LA Mobile Arts Festival fall into the latter category.
The festival, which opens on Saturday in Santa Monica, CA, celebrates “iPhoneography”, the art form that’s catching the eyes of everyone. The event features over 600 works from iPhone artist from around the world. There will be prints, mixed-media installations, sculptures, sound, and video projects on display. The event is sponsored by iPhoneArt.com, an online community dedicated to sharing and promoting the mobile arts.
Check out the gallery here, you’re either going to be inspired to run out and take as many photos as you possibly can, or you’re just going to give up completely. Myself, I’m going to see what’s on TV… SIGH!
