How the MacBook Pro Helped NASA Land the Curiosity Rover on Mars (Pics)

For those of you that haven’t heard, the NASA rover Curiosity successfully completed a challenging landing on Mars this morning. And of course, the Twitter and Reddit crowd were quick to point out that NASA had help from a fair number of MacBook Pros to make it happen!

Of course, as many PC users will proudly tell you, Macs can’t do “real work.” They can only be used for silly things like interior design, doctoring photos, and getting to Mars. Ok – maybe they wouldn’t mention that last one!

As the pictures posted on Reddit clearly show, plenty of NASA’s mission specialists were using MacBooks. They played a critical role in landing the Rover. So, the next time some tool tells you Macs are useless for anything except art, just ask them if the folks at NASA are just a bunch of silly artists!
