Apple Officially Pulls the Plug on MobileMe, iWork.com

Apple’s been warning us all for some time that this would come, and the day has finally arrived – iWork.com and MobileMe have officially been taken off life support. Apple has been transitioning users away from the services since iCloud was announced alongside iOS 5.

MacRumors notes that the official MobileMe website has now removed the option for users to transfer their accounts to iCloud or download their data. Now all that’s left is a giant red “Closed” sign, and a link to Apple’s iCloud site.

Meanwhile, iWork.com gets even less of a courtesy from Apple – the site has been completely taken down, and now just redirects back to Apple.com. I suppose it’s true what they say: All good things must come to an end. Except in this case, it applies to mediocre things as well.
