Following reports from earlier this morning suggesting a September 21 release for the next iPhone, and a significant iPhone and iPad event to be held on September 12, iLounge claims to offer some additional details on Apple’s future product releases.
In addition to echoing claims of a mid-to-late September iPhone release, and claims that Apple is working on two new cases for their next iPhone, the report also claims to provide new information on the 4th-gen iPad, the iPad mini, as well as the new iPod touch.
Some of the details revealed include:
- New iPod touch to be announced alongside the iPhone
- The “iPad mini likely will not ship alongside the next iPhone, but could ship in November instead. Apple is also reportedly working on a new iPad Smart Cover and Smart Case for the smaller iPad.
- 4th-gen iPad with thinner design, smaller dock connector, rear microphone, and reduced heat output likely to be released early next year.
The report also comments that there’s no indication that Apple will launch a new iPod nano this year, despite previous rumors to the contrary. It’s worth noting that iLounge has a fairly good track record when it comes to Apple rumors.
