While Apple’s rumored 7.85-inch “iPad mini” seems more and more likely to be released at some point, it certainly hasn’t been announced (or even acknowledged) by Apple. That hasn’t stopped case makers from producing cases for the rumored device, however!
9to5Mac has obtained several images from DeviceWare offering a first glimpse at possible cases for Apple’s miniaturized tablet. The images were briefly posted on the case maker’s website before later being pulled.
Case-Mate did something similar with the “iPhone 5” last year, and their design turned out to be completely false, making their tactic nothing more than a publicity stunt intended to call extra attention to their products and website. Even so, case makers have been known to have insight into Apple’s supply chain in the past.
In the end, it’s hard to know what to make of these images. We’ll probably find out later this year!
