Apple Officially Shuts Down MobileMe, Offers One Last Chance to Save Your Data

Following the launch of iCloud last year, Apple placed an official expiration date on Mobile – the service that it replaced. That expiration date has now arrived, and as of midnight ET on June 30, MobileMe has officially been shut down.

Users navigating to Me.com are now greeted with a message informing them that the service has been shutdown, and offers users one last chance to migrate to iCloud, as well as to download their MobileMe gallery photos and any files stored in iDisk.

Apple will also continue to offer MobileMe subscribers who migrate to iCloud 20GB of free online storage, compared to the 5GB of free storage offered to other new iCloud subscribers, until September 30, as previously promised.
