Apple Adds New ‘Food and Drink’ Category to the App Store

Following previous claims that a new Food & Drink category would be coming to the App Store, 9to5Mac reports that the category is now live, featuring around 3,000 apps related to dining, cooking, and other related apps.

The category has quite a narrow focus, however – it excludes calorie counting or dieting apps, instead specifically focusing on food preparation. After all, you wouldn’t want something like calorie counting to get between you and some delicious food, would you?

You can check out the new food category right now on your iOS device, or in iTunes on your Mac. And yes – much to my delight, there are recipes involving bacon. And pie. Mmmmmmm…..
