iOS is generally seen as being as safe as it is possible to be when it comes to malware and viruses, and that’s probably true. However in some cases, some apps are not what they appear to be.They might pretend to do something when in fact they’re not, and as always when dealing with software, it’s always better being safe than sorry.
TrustR aims to give you that security, so whenever you have a doubt you can scan your system to see if you have any infections but also update you to the latest patches.
Layout
The layout could not be more simple, which is exactly how they should be. You have four main buttons to scan, view you security problems, view your infections, and check for updates.
There is also a question mark button, which gives you all the information you need about which button does what. It’s really intuitive, just how it’s meant to be, not to mention the color scheme, which has a really nice metallic feel.
Functionality
Everything in the app is responsive and really smooth, something which is always good. Scanning only takes a few seconds, and the results appear instantly so you know straight off if you have any security issues.
Any infections should then appear under the relevant button, with security patches so you can fix the problem. A nice feature they could have included would be simply a catalog of all known infections, so the user could know what to expect and might be able prevent it. It’s not a huge deal that it isn’t included, but it would have been nice.
Verdict
TrustR is a great app, especially for jailbroken iPhones, as it guarantees you that you’ll be safe from any malicious apps or security breaches. It’s very well laid out and designed, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants that extra security, especially on jailbroken phones. It’s pretty much faultless.
