Retina MacBook Pro Ship Times Slip to 3-4 Weeks

Ship times for the new Retina MacBook Pros from the Apple Online Store have once again slipped, now resting at 3-4 weeks. This comes just one day after shipping estimates slipped to 2-3 weeks. Apple just can’t keep these things in stock!

Yes – despite their high price tag, extremely low repairability, and frustrating lack of upgradability, people just can’t seem to resist the shininess of that new Retina display – even though it will take a while for many apps to support the new higher resolution.

The shipping delays seem to apply to all countries, with current shipping estimates from most regional Apple Online Stores sitting somewhere between July 11 and July 17. Apple Retail Stores aren’t offering much better odds, either – Apple just can’t keep these things on the shelves!

If you want one of these anytime soon, you may want to call as soon as the Apple Store opens for the next several days – maybe you’ll get lucky and snag one as they’re receiving their next shipment!

Meanwhile, Apple’s non-Retina MacBook Pros, which also have USB 3 and faster processors & RAM for a much cheaper price, are in stock pretty much everywhere!
