The next iteration of Google’s Chrome browser, codenamed Canary, will support the new Retina display Macbook Pro, AnandTech has discovered.
When you compare the current version of Chrome to the developer version of Canary, there is a noticeable difference with regard to how text and images appear, so it seems that if you’re a Chrome fan with a Retina Macbook Pro, you will still be able to use it to its full ability very soon.
However AnandTech also pointed out that Safari still looked the better of the two, so you might want to consider switching if you use Chrome, just to take full advantage of the stunning Retina display.
If applications aren’t updated, they will look like the standard Chrome (right) and not like Canary (left), which could leave many disappointed, even if developers will no doubt put in a huge shift to get their apps updated and optimised as fast as possible.
A pre-release version of the updated browser is available now through the Chrome Canary channel, although it may not be as stable as the released version of Chrome.
