Among the many fascinating features announced for iOS 6 at the WWDC 2012 keynote earlier this month was a new app called Passbook, which is designed to keep all of your tickets, rewards cards, gift cards, and so forth all in one place.
While Passbook is included in the iOS 6 beta offered to developers, it doesn’t actually work yet, with those hoping to try the new app left disappointed. Until now, that is! Redmond Pie has provided instructions for how you can use Passbook on the latest iOS 6 beta right now!
Step 1: Head on over to PassSource.com on your iOS device that has the iOS 6 beta installed.
Step 2: The website contains a number of already created templates just waiting for the relevant information to be added. Tap on your desired pass type to enter the information view.
Step 3: Fill in all of the relevant information before scrolling all the way to the bottom of the pass creation page and selecting the ‘Create’ button. The next screen will display a functional.pkpass file that is compatible with the Passbook application.
Step 4: Voila. Once each item has been created and selected, Passbook on the device will be a working application.
Passbook is expected to officially swing into full action when iOS 6 is released this fall. Until then, those with access to the beta and an unquenchable curiosity for all things Apple can grab a first look right away! Check out the below video for a tutorial on how to enable the feature.
