If you’re looking to add some Googleicious zing to your Mac, BlueStacks has just the thing – an early beta of a new app that allows Mac users to install and run Android apps on OS X (via The Verge)! The beta comes with 17 pre-loaded apps, although support for additional apps will be added over time.
The company released an early alpha version of their Android app player for Mac yesterday, is available immediately through the BlueStacks website. The app is intended to open up new distribution channels for Android developers, which could bring a nice revenue boost to makers of popular apps.
A PC version of the app was released earlier this year, but it’s nice to see some love for the Mac as well (although I’m not at all sure it really makes sense to run mobile apps on a desktop…).
