OS X Mountain Lion is is set to be released to the public next month, and now MacRumors is reporting that Apple has asked select members of it’s retail store staff to begin testing the software.
In an email to Apple Store Geniuses and Creatives, Apple offered access to the OS X Mountain Lion testing program. The testing is to be done on the employees personal Macs, and is not part of the standardized in-store OS X Mountain Lion training program.
By allowing the staff access to Mountain Lion, Apple is expanding its testing pool, while giving retail store staff a head-start on obtaining familiarity with the OS before any formal training begins.
Work on OS X Mountain Lion should be nearing an end, if it hasn’t already completed. The company issued a “near-final” build to developers at its Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this month. Apple would like to assure itself that the latest build is behaving itself before release of the OS to the wild, i.e. the Mac App Store.
