Apple Looking To Highlight Free App Store and iBookstore Content?

After launching a ‘Free App of the Week’ promotion last month, it seems that Apple is continuing in the same vein after registering two domain names, freeonappstore.com and freeonibookstore.com, MacRumors reports. It’s another sure sign that Apple is looking to further promote free content, even though, as of writing, there is no content at either domain.

The registration was completed a day after WWDC, but this is probably just coincidental, with them bearing no relation to what was announced at the event.

Apple already has a couple of agreements in place regarding app and book promotions including a partnership with Starbucks, while the Free App of Week promotion originally started out as a Facebook exclusive before featuring in the App Store.
