Held last night, the 2012 Webby Awards, an annual event which honors the best that the internet has to offer, featured a special tribute to Steve Jobs (via CNET). The Apple Co-founder was honored with touching comments from a number of celebrities and notable public figures.
The tribute was introduced by John Hodgman and Justin Long (the two actors from the Mac vs. PC commercials), as well as Richard Dryfuss who voiced Apple’s iconic Think Different ad. The short clip featured comments from Buzz Aldrin, President Obama, Al Gore, and a number of celebrities, including comedian Jimmy Fallon.
A comment fr0m Barack Obama concluded the tribute: “We only need one word to describe Steve Jobs: amazing.”
The entire tribute seemed very fitting, and was done very tastefully – a fantastic homage to one of the most significant titans of technology of our time.
Thank you, Steve Jobs.
