Untethered iOS 5.1.1 Jailbreak Likely Launching Tomorrow, Will Support All Devices

It’s been a long time coming, but the untethered iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak is nearly upon us! The jailbreak will work for all current iOS devices, and it looks like there’s a pretty good chance that the jailbreak will be publicly released tomorrow by pod2g, MuscleNerd, and other iOS hackers at the Hack In The Box conference in Amsterdam!

It was already suspected that the jailbreak, called Absinthe 2.0, could arrive sometime this week, and considering that pod2g revealed this morning that the only device left to add is the iPad 2,4, and that he’s asking folks at the conference if they have one he can borrow, a release sometime tomorrow is seeming more and more likely.

The team of iOS hackers is scheduled to deliver a keynote at the conference tomorrow evening, although as iDownloadBlog notes, Amsterdam is 6 hours ahead of eastern time, which means it would actually be tomorrow morning on many of our watches.

The keynote would of course be an excellent time to announce that the jailbreak is ready to go! Beyond that, a tweet from the conference’s Twitter feed also seems to be quite revealing:

We’re hopeful that the jailbreak will indeed be released tomorrow, and as always, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear more information about this.
