The Latest iMac Clone Comes From China (And Even Has The Apple Logo!)

And you thought you’d seen it all. We’ve had Macbook Air clones. Even yesterday we had a pretty darn good attempt at the iMac from Dell. I’m sorry to use the cliche, but this one takes the biscuit. It’s unbelievable  to have two in two days, but clearly as far as iMac clones go, things come in pairs.

Chinese manufacturer Rahway has replicated the iMac to the nearest detail (a part from the plastic case which they claim is aluminum), MICGadget reports. The logo is even there. The bezel is exactly the same as well as the stand. In fact, to the computer novice, it would be the same computer.

The only other noticeable difference is the location of the I/O ports, but again, to the untrained eye, it’s the same machine. How people can get away with this stuff I have no idea, and from the pictures it seems they’ve even got some kind of Hackintosh setup going, so it’s even worse!

I’m quite tempted to contact Mr. Hong (according to the article, the owner of the company) and enquire further in my Google Translate chinese, as if they can make these for half the price of an iMac, I’m sure that there will be plenty of takers. And I’m sorry Dell, but you ain’t got nothing on Rahway.
