Following Adobe’s public release of Photoshop Lightroom 4, the company has now launched the popular software on the Mac App Store for $149.99 – the same price as their boxed edition, despite Apple taking a 30% cut of Mac App Store purchases.
Lightroom is a unique offering that acts somewhat like a companion app to the full version of Photoshop, allowing users to make quick and easy image edits, create photo books, organize images, share them on social networks, and so forth.
Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 4 software helps you create amazing images that inspire, inform, and delight. Perfect your shots with powerfully simple one-click adjustments and a full range of cutting-edge advanced controls. Craft elegant photo books, organize your images, and share them easily on social networks, in web galleries, and more—all with one fast, intuitive application.
The app joins three other Adobe apps (Photoshop Elements 10, Premiere Elements 10, and the subscription-based Adobe Revel) on the Mac App Store, and marks an increased interest on Adobe’s part at targeting their software specifically to Apple’s customer base.
Photoshop Lightroom 4 is available immediately for $149.99 from the Mac App Store (direct link).
