You may find at some point in time that you will need to locate the serial number for your Mac. Generally, when making service requests or appointments with your local Apple Store.
Due to the Mac’s beautiful design, the serial number will often not be located on the outer case of your desktop of laptop.
Most commonly with Apple computers you will find the serial number under the battery for the laptops or in the RAM bay for desktops. Access to these areas are not always convenient if you need the number in a hurry.
Therefore, you can access the serial number by another method. Navigate to the Apple Menu and select About This Mac as shown below:
Upon selecting About This Mac you will be presented with the following window outlining a heads up display of your computer’s current operating system and performance specifications.
Additionally, you can click on More Info… which will then present a more detailed overview regarding the performance of your Mac as shown below:
You will note the serial number is displayed in the overview tab.
Please note the blur boxes have been placed there for security reasons. When you perform this function on your Mac you will see the number in its entirety.
