Latest Parts Leak Suggests Bigger Screen for iPod Touch, ‘iPhone 5’ Cameras and Home Button Cable Also Leaked

With the number of supposed parts being leaked at the moment, you could almost build the entire iPhone even before its released! We’ve had: home buttons, SIM card trays, a headphone jack/earpiece/WiFi cable component and now we’re even seeing the supposed front panel of a new iPod Touch, as well as ‘iPhone 5’ cameras and home button flex cables, MacRumors reports.

The supplier claims that the iPod Touch front panel measures 4.1 inches diagonally, something which would roughly seem to support the new iPhone screen size claims of WSJ and other Apple sites, which might suggest that both devices will use the same screen.

Other parts to leak were the home button flex cable and both front and rear cameras, both of which look considerably different to the iPhone 4S versions:

At a minimum the home button flex cable and front camera assembly show distinct differences from their iPhone 4S counterparts, although they may end up being functionally indistinguishable from the user’s perspective. The rear camera appears very similar to modules used in the last several generations of the iPhone, although it is lacking an associated LED flash.

So from the parts so far it certainly seems like Apple is switching things up a bit, with the supposed front panel being considerably bigger than the 3.5 inches of the current iPod Touch and the cameras also appearing to be different. At the rate these parts are emerging, we should actually have a good idea of what to expect before the keynote itself (if they’re genuine).
