Despite the fact that Apple has shown no interested in developing an iOS/Mac “hybrid” device, and that fact that Tim Cook compared combining OS X and iOS to converging a toaster and a refrigerator, one designer has come up with a fantastic concept for how a touchscreen iMac might work.
9to5Mac reader and 3D animation student Joakim Ulseth created the above mockup, which shows a thoroughly redesigned iMac with a built-in touchscreen and a bunch of iOS-inspired features. The mockup also features a Retina display (4096 x 2304 resolution), Apple’s Siri technology, and an Ivy Bridge processor.
It’s an extremely impressive concept, even for folks like me who don’t think Apple would ever allow iOS to run on a Mac…
