Apple’s resident design guru Sir Jony Ive has been honored with the title of British Visionary Innovator in recognition of his design work with Apple (via MacWorld UK). Ive is well known for playing a leading role in designing the iMac, iPad, iPhone, Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and other Apple products.
Considering his long list of impressive design achievements, it’s clear that the award is well-deserved. Ive won the award by popular ballot, taking 46.6 percent of the vote, followed by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who is credited for developing the basis for the internet.
The award was given by Britain’s Intellectual Property Office as part of its World Intellectual Property Day celebration. Ive was also recently honored with a full knighthood late last year.
