Sir Jony Ive has been named in a poll to find the best ‘British Visionary Innovator’ by the Intellectual Property Office in celebration of World Intellectual Property Day 2012. He will face some stiff competition, with Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Sir Norman Foster and JK Rowling also in contention.
Street art legend Banksy, music mogul Simon Cowell and vacuum cleaner pioneer Sir James Dyson are also among those on the list.
As phenomenal as Jony Ive is, I had to cast my vote to Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the internet (or at least put the concept into motion). Without him, I wouldn’t be writing this article – it’s as simple as that.
