Among the many interesting things revealed in Apple’s quarterly earnings report yesterday was the fact that the App Store now has a whopping 600,000 apps, having added 50,000 in just the past month.
These apps are putting a lot of money in Apple’s pockets, and the pockets of developers, with iTunes having generated a total of $1.9 in revenue over the past three months (although it’s unclear how much of that went to apps vs. other areas).
Apple celebrated their 25 billionth app download last month, and although they didn’t provide updated figures for how many apps have been downloaded, the fact that the total number of apps has increased nearly 10% in just one month suggests that the number is rising quickly.
