Video Review: Logitech Touch Mouse M600

Logitech sent the Touch Mouse M600 out for review a few weeks ago. I’ve had the chance to put it through some tests and have made a full review video on it, which can be seen below.

Pros

The M600 is very comfortable in the hand and has a stylish design. It is a bit bigger than Apple’s Magic Mouse and is definitely not as heavy. This mouse will work on any surface, even blue Levi jeans, and does not make that much noise if you are using it without a mouse pad. The clicks are also significantly quieter than that of the Apple Magic Mouse.

Cons

Possibly the biggest downfall to the Touch Mouse is that there is no smooth scrolling for OS X. This is something that is a huge part of OS X and it makes the user experience a lot better. However, there is an app called “Flow Scroll” for Windows that will enable smooth scrolling. I would love to see Logitech move this over to the Mac App Store.

Verdict

Rating: 3.5/5[rating:3.5]

The Touch Mouse M600 retails for $70 (the same price as Apple’s Magic Mouse). If I had to pick one of these to use as my mouse on my Mac everyday, I would have to choose the Magic Mouse. No, it’s not because I’m an Apple fanboy, which is true, but simply for the reason that there is no smooth scrolling. Once Logitech comes out with an app for smooth scrolling, I’l definitely move to the Touch Mouse.
