Despite phenomenal pre-order demand and the fact that over 3 million new iPads were sold during its launch weekend, online shipping times have already begin to improve on Apple’s new iPad as supply catches up with demand.
Shipping times swiftly increased to 2-3 weeks within days of Apple announcing the new device, with Apple taking caution to ensure they had enough devices for U.S. retail launch weekend sales and their upcoming second international launch of the device.
It’s great to see that Apple has been able to keep up with demand this time around instead of repeating supply disaster that happened with last year’s iPad 2 launch, with most retail stores remaining out of stock for a number of weeks following the launch.
