How To: Access Your User Library In Mac OS X Lion
Many users of the Lion operating system are finding it difficult to locate the the user Library folder. The Library folder contains in many cases specific information that needs to be accessed regarding the applications you use and is also utilised for some application save files.
Apple decided to restrict user access to this folder which is probably a good thing. If you need to access that area you will need to use the following steps. This is only one example of how to access the area.
Make sure you are in the Finder view and navigate to the Go Menu in the Menu Bar as shown below:
The above view does not have access by default to the user Library folder. Whilst still in the drop down menu simply hold down the “Option” key. By doing so you will be presented with the following view:
As you can see from the above image when you hold down the “Option” key you can now select the user Library folder.
Simply click and the user Library folder will open allowing full access to its contents.
This is only a temporary window of access as when you close the Library folder in the Finder you will have to follow the same steps as presented above to access at a later date.
