Many people already use the iPhone as their primary music device. So why not use it to replace your car’s sound system as well? A new KickStarter project called Devium Dash aims to do just that.
Devium Dash is a unique kit that completely replaces your car’s stereo, allowing your iPhone or iPod touch to act as your car’s entire sound system. The system can fit an iPhone 4 or 4S with or without Apple’s bumper.
The Devium Dash is made out of machined aluminum, and will be adaptable to future models of the iPhone, and even other smartphones before it is formally released. It features subwoofer output, video out to external displays, an FM tuner, and will eventually even allow phone calls to be made with the iPhone in landscape mode.
It’s a pretty awesome idea, to be sure. Devium Dash is currently just under half way to its funding goal, so it’s likely that it will be funded and produced. If you’re as excited about this idea as I am, head on over to KickStarter and make a pledge! $250 will guarantee that you receive a Devium Dash when they are released in June.
