With the release of the iPad 3 right around the corner, a number of retailers are starting to reduce prices on their iPad2 inventory. Best Buy has now slashed $50 off the price of all iPad 2s, which now start at $449.99.
A $50 discount is pretty substantial for the iPad 2, but it remains to be seen whether this will be enough to lure customers, especially considering rumors that Apple may permanently lower the price of the iPad 2 when they release the iPad 3.
Apple is expected to hand out invitations to their March 7th iPad 3 event any day now. The device is expected to feature a faster processor and a high-resolution Retina display, and should be available for sale sometime in mid March.
