Apple has begun seeding Safari 5.2 and Xcode 4.4 to developers to test Mountain Lion features and support. The new version of Safari, which will be included with Mountain Lion, combines the address var and search field into a new Chrome-like search bar, while Xcode 4.4 is required for developing apps for OS X 10.8.
Xcode 4.4 also includes a few new upgrades, such as an editor for Collada 3D files, compiler support for Objective-C enhancements, the ability to open a project in multiple workspaces, the addition of AppKit features to Interface Builder, and a new LLVM compiler to reduct idle time in apps.
The final version of Xcode 4.4 will likely be released shortly before the public release of OS X Mountain Lion, while Safari 5.2 will likely be released for OS X Lion users alongside the release of Mountain Lion. Both developer seeds are available now through the Apple Developer Center.
