Apple Releases EFI Updates, Brings Lion Internet Recovery to All 2010 Macs

Apple has released a trio of EFI updates for the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac this evening, bringing Lion Internet Recovery to all of their 2010 Macs. The updates are available immediately through Software Update or directly from Apple.

This update enables Lion Recovery from an Internet connection on MacBook Air (Late 2010) models and addresses an issue where the system could restart if the power button is pressed immediately after waking from deep sleep.

Lion Internet Recovery was introduced in July of last year alongside new MacBook Air and Mac Mini models, and Apple has slowly been bringing the feature to the rest of their 2010 and 2011 lineup. Apple released a similar update for the 2010 Mac Mini and 13-inch MacBook Pro late last month. As of this update, all of Apple’s 2010 and 2011 Macs now support the feature.
