Screen protectors for the iPhone are a mixed bag, especially with the Retina display on the iPhone 4 and 4S. Most protectors are nothing more than a flimsy sheet of plastic that can degrade the viewing experience on your high-resolution iPhone’s gorgeous screen. The latest protector from Spigen SGP (United SGP), however, takes a different path – using tough tempered glass to protect your device!
Rather than a flimsy sheet of plastic, SGP’s latest protector is a nice 0.4mm piece of tempered glass that sits on top of your touchscreen. The glas contains the necessary openings for the home button and earpiece, and covers the front-facing camera.
What’s more is that since this is glass, it doesn’t affect the sensitivity of your touch screen. It’s also three times as hard as plastic screen protectors, and because it’s tempered, it will safely shatter into a million sheeted pieces so you can remove it without cutting yourself.
The GLAS.t screen protector is available now for $28 – a bit pricey for a screen protector, but probably worth it if you’re serious about protecting your device.
