In the continuing legal brawl between the two companies, Samsung was denied a preliminary injunction today against sales of Apple’s iPhone 4S in Italy, reports FOSS Patents.
Samsung originally filed the motion last October, stating that Apple was free-riding on their technology and violating their intellectual property rights (ignoring the fact that they themselves seem to be blatantly copying Apple at every turn). The company initially planned to ban the iPhone 4S in Italy before it even went on sale, but was denied.
Samsung’s accusation is that Apple is infringing on two patents related to certain wireless standards necessary for 3G mobile devices to function.
This latest ruling marks a continuing trend in which Samsung continually fails in their attempts to ban the sales of Apple’s devices in various regions throughout the world. Apple has also been denied numerous injunctions against Samsung’s products.
