QuasiDisk Proxy Tethering App Hits the App Store (Update: Pulled)

*Update (1/30/2012 2:59 PM MST): As MacTrast reader @Cortozld points out, QuasiDisk has now been removed from the App Store. Gee, that didn’t last long.

Yet another tethering app has slipped past Apple’s watchful eyes, reports 9to5Mac. A new iPhone file manager called QuasiDisk ($1.99, App Store) has a sneaky hidden feature allowing users to tether their 3G connections via proxy.

This certainly isn’t the first such app to hit the App Store. Just two months ago, another app called iTether specifically created for tethering managed to evade Apple’s ban-hammer as well (but only for a few hours!).

In addition to tethering, QuasiDisk also provides a very quick and effective way to transfer documents and files between your devices – a useful feature in itself! As of the time of this writing, QuasiDisk is still available for $1.99 (App Store link), but you’d be best advised to hurry if you want this app – Apple is usually pretty fast to remove things like this.

Also, a word of warning – Using a tethering app without an official tethering plan from your carrier could result in additional charges to or cancellation of your wireless account. Proceed with caution.

If you think you might want to try this app, however, I’d advise you to act without delay, as Apple is typically pretty quick to remove such apps.
