A predicted sales tax increase in France will see the prices of Apple products rise accordingly, MacGeneration reports. The tax will rise 1.6%, going from 19.6% to 21.2%, which will have a considerable impact on prices, especially on the more expensive devices.
The potential new prices in red reveal that an iMac’s price could rise by €15, while the price of an iPad could rise by €6. Even though less expensive devices like the iPod Shuffle and the Apple TV won’t see much of a change in price, it remains an important price raise for the more expensive ones.
This also goes to highlight how much cheaper the US prices are on Apple products compared to the rest of the world. For reference, the price of an iMac in France would translate to $1524 – the base price of an iMac in the US is $1199.
