This is probably one of the coolest tech related things I’ve seen in a while. One of the most common ways that phones get broken is through water damage, but a new coating process created by Liquipel means you’ll never have to worry about that again.
The coating is invisible and penetrates all through the iPhone so that every component is protected. The process behind it is fascinating: they place the phone in a special chamber before filling it with special water repellent vapour which they then bind to iPhone using a special natural material apparently only found on the surface of the Sun (or created in a laboratory).
You have to send your phone off to Liquipel as the procedure is advanced and so not possible at home but their service seems pretty fast. You get your waterproofed phone back within one or two days, so it’s not that bad.
