How To: Reopen Closed Safari Tabs In iOS 5 for iPad

If you have ever accidentally closed a tab in Safari on the iPad you will generally assume you can not recover the page without navigating to the site again.

With iOS 5 this is not a problem. You can recover any closed page and it will reload to the exact page you were previously viewing.

Please note if you were in the process of filling in a form that information will be lost.

To recover any closed pages/tabs simply tap and hold the plus button in the top right hand corner of Safari, as highlighted in the image above.

Then simply select one of the previously closed tabs. It will load the exact page you were previously on in a new tab.

Even if you only had one a single website open and you closed the page it will be available again in this pop-out window.

These options will remain if you close Safari.

If you close the application via multi-task (double click on home button, then tap and hold the app icon, and press the ‘x’ button) then the recently closed tab list will empty.

Please note: A maximum of the last 5 pages/tabs will be available in the Recently Closed Tabs area of Safari on the iPad.
