The iMac now represents an astonishing 32.9% of all-in-one PC sales, research firm DisplaySearch revealed to Bloomberg. In a market that grew 39% in 2010 to reach 14.5 million units, Apple is steadily and quietly taking command.
Despite much of the recent focus being on portable devices such as tablets and notebooks, the iMac is gaining market share, with last quarter desktop Mac sales setting a new record.
Apple’s 33% share is the single largest in the market, with Lenovo and HP coming in second and third respectively. DisplaySearch believes that the market could reach 23.3 million units by 2014, which shows just how rapidly it is growing.
