After a difficult beginning, iCloud has really taken off, and, according to Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer, now has over 85M subscribers, Apple Insider reports. The incredible growth of iCloud has meant the number of new subscriptions has outnumbered the combined sales of Macs, iPhones, iPads and iPods.
Peter Oppenheimer also re-emphasized the benefits of the cloud.
“iCloud is off to a great start with more than 85 million customers signed up as of today. With iCloud, customers can store their music and photos and documents and keep their personal information and content in sync across all their devices, automatically and seamlessly.”
iCloud launched alongside iOS 5 back in October, with Tim Cook calling it not only a product but a “strategy for the next decade”.
