Those of you still using Photoshop may be interested in a new sneak preview of Photoshop CS6 posted to Adobe’s YouTube channel. Among other things, the preview shows off a noticeably darker interface.
The video (pointed out by Mashable) is narrated by Adobe senior product manager Brian O’Neil Hughes, and gives a nice look at some new tools that the company expects to include in the next major version of Photoshop. I must say, it’s pretty amazing what he was able to do with the original picture of the Eiffel Tower that he shot with his phone!
In speaking of the new darker interface, Hughes states: “We have a darker interface that allows for a more immersive experience. We’re able to focus on the image and not on the interface itself. Although, fear not, if you want to change the interface to look as it did before, you can do that.”
All in all, it looks like a pretty impressive preview, and it looks like some pretty cool things are coming to Photoshop in the future. The question remains, however, as to how many people still need Photoshop when less expensive tools such as Pixelmator ($29.99, App Store link) are often just as effective…
