We’ve looked at previous solutions that allow you to use Siri dictation to control your Mac, but a new app called Vocal really takes the cake, providing a solution that works extremely well and provides a wide assortment of features.
Vocal works by pairing a free Mac app with a $1.99 app (App Store link) that runs on your iPhone 4S. This app allows users to send various commands to the Mac, as well as dictate text using Siri’s voice recognition technology.
The app can do a variety of things – control iTunes, send emails or tweets, look up words, copy and paste text, create new documents and more. The app seems to work very well on the whole, although some commands work better than others. But for $1.99, I’d say it’s worth a download!
Vocal for the iPhone 4S is available now on the App Store for $1.99 (App Store link), and the free Mac companion app can be downloaded from the Vocal website.
