Microsoft Releases Skydrive for iPhone – 25GB of Free Cloud Storage

Following the release of Kinectimals for iOS earlier today, Microsoft has now released SkyDrive for iPhone (free, App Store link) – a free iOS app allowing iPhone users to access Microsoft’s free SkyDrive cloud-based file storage service.

Microsoft’s free SkyDrive service provides 25GB of free cloud-based storage, which is a very appealing offer compared to other cloud storage services (although there’s an individual file limit of 100MB).

Any video or photo created on the iPhone can be uploaded to SkyDrive, which can be accessed through the internet, or on any other compatible device. It even includes fairly decent support for sharing files with others through an e-mail link.

In addition, the app also provides a way to create and delete folders from the iPhone. Current users of Microsoft’s services, including Hotmail, Microsoft Messenger and XBox Live already have SkyDrive accounts, and new users can register for free at SkyDrive.com.

SkyDrive for iPhone is available now through the App Store (free, App Store link).
