How To: Airplane Mode
Airplane mode is a setting available to all iPhone/iPad users which complies with international airline regulations allowing a user to use their device whilst in flight.
Airport mode will disable all Cellular Data, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS signals from being received or sent.
Some aircraft operators will allow certain functions to remain on during flight. If in doubt please ask one of the staff.
If your airliner allows usage of Wi-Fi whilst in flight for example you will need to use the following settings. Simply go to the settings panel in your device to see the following information.
You will notice above that this is in the default position with Airplane Mode turned off and WiFi connected.
Now you will need to slide Airplane Mode to ‘On’ as shown below.
You will notice in this window that there is a small airplane logo positioned at the top of the window indicating this is the active setting and you will also note Wi-Fi has been turned off.
Now if the airliner allows for WiFi connections all you have to do on the left hand side of the screen is turn Wi-Fi to ‘on’ and select the requested network. Your settings should look like this:
Please note this is only for activating Wi-Fi settings if applicable and most probably all other settings will need to be disabled.
