Huge crowds formed in New York this morning for the launch Apple’s new Grand Central Terminal retail store, following a media preview of the location on Wednesday. As you can see from the below photograph snapped by Fortune’s Philip Elmer-DeWitt, these crowds are pretty incredible.
The store opened to the public today at 10:00 AM ET with a longer line that some Apple launches, and more Geniuses on hand than many Apple Stores have customers at any one time.
As usual with Apple’s retail grand openings, the company handed out T-shirts to the first 4,000 visitors, which have “Apple Store, Grand Central” spelled out on the front, designed to resemble a train arrival board. Check out the below video to see the grand opening pandemonium with your own eyes:
