A new announcement today from AT&T reveals that the carrier sold around 6 million smartphones in October and November, and expects to set a new quarterly smartphone sales record, which they credit to strong iPhone 4S sales.
AT&T’s previous record was 6.1 million smartphones, and considering that they’re only 100,000 or so smartphones away, and have the whole month of September to hit the record, it seems inevitable.
AT&T specifically credits strong iPhone 4S sales and performance for the boost, due largely to a higher than normal number of handset upgrades. AT&T also said that iPhone 4S sales continue to remain strong.
