Apple Ranks Among Top 10 Places to Work

Employees at major tech companies have spoken out on how they feel about their employers, and according to a recent study by Glassdoor, Apple, Google and Facebook have some of the happiest employees around.

Of all the major technology companies targeted by the survey, Microsoft is (strangely) the only one who didn’t make it into the top 50 (let alone the top 10). So, how do these ratings work? Glassdoor explains:

The Glassdoor Best Places to Work list represents Employees’ Choice, identifying the top 50 workplaces, according to employees who have completed surveys on Glassdoor. The ranking is determined by overall rating on Glassdoor, which is determined using a 20-question company survey that captures employees’ attitudes about: Career Opportunities, Communication, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Morale, Recognition & Feedback, Senior Leadership, Work/Life Balance, and Fairness & Respect.

While Apple did rank pretty well, with a score of 3.9 out of 5, they were still beaten by both Google and Facebook. Google in particular has long had a reputation for employee satisfaction, as their campuses are massive and filled with all manner of luxuries.

On the whole, Apple came in 10th place – a significant increase over the previous three years, where they typically ranked around 20th, with many Apple employees offering glowing praise over their work environment.
