8 of the 10 Most Popular WSJ Articles in 2011 Were About Apple

Apple was one of the hottest corporate news items in 2011, with 8 out of the top 10 most read Wall Street Journal articles being about Apple, the Wall Street Journal has revealed. The most read story was that of Steve Jobs’ passing, followed by Verizon’s announcement that they would start selling the iPhone.

The third most read story was Jobs stepping down as CEO, followed by the unveiling of the iPad 2. Sprint carrying the iPhone and and the unveiling of the iPhone 4S came in fifth and sixth respectively.

This stat certainly shows Apple’s ever increasing part in the corporate world, and I imagine that by next year it will have near complete dominance. Borders’ liquidation and Paul Allen’s comments on Bill Gates were the two non-Apple stories in the top 10.
